This isn’t the first time Telltale’s games have been rumored for the Nintendo Switch, however. Both Guardians of the Galaxy and the original season of Batman were both briefly listed by European retailers for the Nintendo Switch at different points in time. Neither of those ports have become a reality since though, which doesn’t necessarily cast doubt on the current rumor regarding Batman: The Enemy Within, but also says not to get one’s credit card out just yet.
Telltale bringing its games to the Nintendo Switch is an inevitability at this point. The publisher already brings each of its titles to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile devices, showing that its priority is to reach as wide of an audience as possible. Several Telltale games were even published for the Wii U, Nintendo’s least successful platform. Considering the Nintendo Switch already shows much more staying power, it’s just a matter of when Telltale feels comfortable with the publishing situation that it will launch its games.
Batman: The Enemy Within currently only has one episode available for purchase, with its second episode currently without a release date. Perhaps Telltale will make a dual announcement at gamescom this week about Nintendo Switch support and the second episode’s launch date. Or maybe Telltale will wait to release the full season on Switch. Either way, don’t be surprised to hear an announcement soon.
Batman: The Enemy Within is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with iOS and Android support coming in early October.
