In reference to Battlefield 1’s narrative, Wilson’s suggestion that it has a rich plot holds some weight, as the title’s lead game designer Daniel Berlin recently teased campaign details revealing that the game’s tale will focus on different characters around the world. Taking all of the fans’ excitement for Battlefield 1 in consideration, the Battlefield global community manager Dan Mitre thanked everyone for the positive support, saying, “Everyone at DICE and across EA are totally blown away by the awesome reaction gamers have had to Battlefield 1. Last week, we pulled back the veil to show everyone what we’ve been working on, and we bore witness to incredible support from fans.” Not to mention, Mitre also went on to state that the reveal of more Battlefield 1 details will be a part of Electronic Arts’ E3 2016 plans.
“With Battlefield 1, we’ve set out to deliver the biggest and most innovative Battlefield game ever, with a deep story and unprecedented variety in the gameplay powered by our Frostbite engine.”
Of course, EA’s veneration for Battlefield 1 is to be expected since it’s a game coming from the company, so it’s important for fans to take all of this hype from the publisher with a grain of salt. Sure, after the rumor of it being set in World War I was confirmed, many gamers around the globe were understandably elated that there wouldn’t be yet another futuristic shooter making its way to current generation platforms, but still, with relatively little being known about its actual gameplay, it’s best to reserve judgement at the moment.
In any event, it seems as if DICE and Electronic Arts are at least confident Battlefield 1 will roll out smoothly, as developers are working hard to avoid a poor launch like its predecessor in Battlefield 4. Thankfully, should any problems arise, there’s still plenty of time left on the clock for the studios to work out potential kinks before Battlefield 1 releases this fall.
Battlefield 1 is set for release on October 21, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
