The entire list of titles that make up Xbox’s Free Play Days include Battlefield 5, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Battlefield 5 and Assetto Corsa Competizione are playable for free from Thursday, August 26 at 12:01 am PDT to Sunday August 29 at 11:59 pm PDT. However, The Elder Scrolls Online runs a few extra hours until Monday, August 30 at 7:00 am PDT. During this weekend, all three of these games are available for purchase from the Xbox Store at a significant discount as well.
Each of these games offer something different for players to try. Battlefield 5 drops players into immersive battles composed of 64 players along with offering a single player story mode. The inclusion of Battlefield 5 as part of Xbox’s free-to-play games seems like a logical move considering that the company offered Battlefield 4 as part of Free Play Days only a couple weeks ago. As the release of Battlefield 2042 draws closer, Battlefield 5 is one option for fans looking to get back into the series while they wait for the next installment in the franchise.
The other two games provide alternatives for those that would rather play something besides an FPS. Assetto Corsa Competizione allows players to get behind the wheel of some of the world’s fastest cars in the Official GT World Challenge game. For players looking for an MMO-style experience, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited lets gamers dive into an expansive RPG world and even play the Gates of Oblivion prologue quest.
It’s exciting to see new games such as Battlefield 5 added to Xbox’s Free Play Days as it gives gamers an opportunity to check out a title before purchasing it. It will be interesting to see what other games Xbox makes free-to-play for a limited time in the future.
