The latest Battlefield 5 update has added new maps, weapons, and gadgets and as a result, there has been some renewed interest in the title. It seems that the first-person shooter that takes players through famous battle zones has managed to change the opinions of some of its dissatisfied players. There is now a group of players who want the game to continue to have new content in the future and they are making their voices heard through petitions and social media.

On Twitter, many users have been posting messages that contain #SaveBFV and it seems that the movement is picking up some steam. There is also a petition that has over 5,000 signatures that requests more content from the developer, DICE. To add to this pressure there is also support from popular YouTubers like Lossy. Much like Star Wars Battlefront 2 which was appreciated more with time, Battlefield 5 seems to have attracted more devoted fans as updates have been implemented. It will be interesting to see if these fans generate enough attention that it becomes a financially viable option to create more content for the game.
Many of the tweets about the possibility of new content express skepticism about its chances of coming to fruition, although it does make it clear that Battlefield 5 has a number of fans. A key aspect of the continuation of support for the title is when a Battlefield 5 sequel is scheduled to be released and how resources will need to be spread. With a release date of Battlefield 6 scheduled for 2021, it is perhaps understandable that fans are unsure about the chances of getting any more content despite the ongoing petition.
It seems that Battlefield 5 managed to sway consumers on its value through updates and additional content. With that said, some may feel that the game in its current state should have been delivered when it was released in 2018. While Battlefield 5 may have lost some fans, it seems that updates have given new life to the title and this has led to some players facing disappointment if the content for the game ends now.
Battlefield 5 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
