And that’s because Battlefield 5 has plenty of content to offer in terms of gadgets, weapons, and vehicles, something that Battlefield 2042 lacks so far. But, with so many vehicles available for players to choose from, it can be challenging to know which one will help secure a victory for the team.
10 Sd. Kfz 251 Halftrack - Light Vehicle
Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251, the real-life counterpart of the Sd. Kfz 251 Haltrack, was widely used by the Germans during WW2 and was the inspiration for other variants from the United States and Japan. And DICE’s in-game version of this powerful half-track vehicle lives up to its real-life counterpart since it’s the perfect vehicle to cut through infantry defenses in Battlefield 5.
This light vehicle is equipped with three MG34 (with unlimited ammo) that passengers can use. Unfortunately, since it’s a light vehicle, it can easily be destroyed by tanks or anti-vehicle weapons, so players will need to avoid overexposing themselves while using the Sd. Kfz 251 Halftrack.
9 Panzer 38T - Light Armor
Despite being initially designed by Czechoslovakia, the LT vz. 38 (real-life counterpart of the Panzer 38T) was heavily used during the initial phases of WW2 by the Germans. But, its production stopped in 1942 after the French and English armies created tanks that could withstand its firepower, rendering them useless.
The Panzer 38T in Battlefield 5 also suffers from its real-life counterpart flaws since its firepower is subpar compared to other light-armored vehicles. But, despite these flaws, the Panzer 38T is one of the most maneuverable tanks in the game, making it ideal for flanking enemy defenses, especially useful during the co-op campaign.
8 Churchill Gun Carrier - Heavy Armor
The real-life counterpart of the Churchill Gun Carrier never saw any combat during WW2 since it proved to be too massive and slow to use in combat due to its 75mm gun, but that didn’t stop DICE from reimagining it for Battlefield 5. The Churchill Gun Carrier comes packed with a chock-full of armaments like the Besa, Bren Gun, and QF 3DR.
Unfortunately, despite being an absolute powerhouse against light and medium armored vehicles, it suffers from having limited maneuverability, making it a prime target for most support gadgets.
7 Valentine Archer - Tank Destroyer
The British used the Valentine Archer during the North-West European theater, effectively destroying enemy tanks from a safe distance with ease. Battlefield’s version of the Valentine Archer is as powerful as its real-life counterpart, which is why most players use it against enemy teams that heavily push with tanks or other heavy-armored vehicles.
Its primary weapon is a QF 17PDR, which can quickly decimate enemy tanks if it hits a weak spot. Unfortunately, the main drawback of the Valentine Archer is that it stands out on a battlefield, making it an easy target for enemy airplanes.
6 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel) - Naval Vessels
Undoubtedly, the LCVP is one of the most iconic vehicles from WW2, especially during D-Day. It could quickly transport a whole platoon of troops straight from a transport ship while offering decent protection for its passengers. The LCVP in Battlefield 5 is a crucial naval vessel since it can quickly transport a player’s teammates to capture points, especially on maps like Iwo Jima and Wake Island.
The LCVP has two M1919s that can help clear landing areas or provide cover for other teammates. Sadly, the LCVP only provides some protection to its passengers, so enemy aircraft can eliminate a whole platoon, especially if they’re ace pilots.
5 A-20 - Bomber
The Douglas A-20 Havoc (A-20’s real-life counterpart) was crucial for Allied forces during several aerial raid campaigns, allowing Allied forces to push through the German defense. In Battlefield 5, the A-20 also plays a vital role in providing essential air support to ground units since it can clear up heavily fortified areas of a capture point.
Furthermore, the A-20 is the best among the Bomber class since it comes mounted with four primary LMGs, making it ideal for fighting off enemy fighters. On top of that, players can equip Incendiary Bombs that can clear areas fortified by enemy infantry units.
4 Tiger I - Heavy Armor
The Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausführung H (Tiger I real-life counterpart) was produced during the Eastern Front Offensive and proved effective in countering Soviet-made tanks. But, even though it was one of the best heavy armors German had designed, Germany only made 1,300 due to its production and maintenance cost.
The Tiger I in Battlefield 5 is significantly better than its British counterpart (Churchill Gun Carrier) since it has the best firepower and armor protection stats in the entire game. Unfortunately, it’s also one of the slowest vehicles in Battlefield 5, making it susceptible to anti-tank grenades.
3 Ju-87 Stuka - Ground Attack Aircraft
The Stuka is perhaps the most infamous vehicle used during WW2 due to its iconic Jericho Trumpet wailing siren aimed to create fear among those afflicted by its devastating firepower. In Battlefield 5, the Stuka is the perfect aircraft to wipe out light and medium armored vehicles, especially once players equip the Cluster Bomb upgrade.
And despite being one of the slowest aircraft in Battlefield 5, it’s also one of the most resistant ones since its shares the same armor as a Bomber plane which means it can survive most of the Assault Classes’ arsenal of gadgets. But, of course, players do well in avoiding dogfights since most of its armaments are meant for ground vehicles.
2 Spitfire - Fighter
The Spitfire was developed as a high-performance short-range interceptor fighter to counteract German Stuka raids that prevailed during many stages of WW2. Players familiar with the Spitfire in Battlefield 5 know that it can be a powerful air and ground support aircraft, especially in the hands of an experienced fighter pilot.
The Spitfire comes with four.303 Machine Guns (eight .303 Machine Guns once upgraded), making it a dangerous aerial foe during dogfights. On top of that, players can equip two 250lb bombs giving an edge against heavily-armored vehicles.
1 M4 Sherman - Medium Armor
The M4 Sherman was a game-changer during the Pacific and European theaters since it proved to outclass older medium-armored tanks used by the Germans. DICE originally introduced the M4 Sherman in Battlefield 1942 and then reintroduced a refined version in Battlefield 5, featuring an M1919 Coax Machine Gun or a Coax Flamethrower variant.
But, the M4 Sherman is widely considered one of the best medium-armors since players can heavily upgrade its offensive and defensive capabilities. Moreover, the M4 Sherman is helpful as an aggressive vehicle and can also act as a support vehicle when equipped with smokescreens. Once maxed out the M4 Sherman, undoubtedly, takes the spot as the best vehicle in Battlefield 5
Battlefield 5 is out available now for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
