Since the film’s cancellation, Batgirl footage has been released online, which gives fans an idea of what kind of film they could’ve had. Very little BTS footage has any green screen or, from the looks of it, is even staged on a set, as it is all filmed on location using practical effects. This also rings true for the latest never-before-seen footage, which may be much more upsetting for those who were looking forward to another film in the Batman mythos....

To say that Batman: Arkham Knight launched in a broken state on PC would be putting it mildly. In fact, Steam went so far as to pull the game from its online store and even issued refunds to any who felt burned by the PC version’s poor quality. So how did Batman: Arkham Knight launch with so many issues on PC? Well, as it turns out, publisher Warner Bros. may have turned a blind eye to the problems and simply launched the game assuming it would, at the very least, run....

In a post on ResetERA, a Batman fan shared some posts they’d found on the Instagram of The Flight, a music composing duo whose work can be heard in several video games, TV shows, and films. In January, The Flight made two posts about the new Batman game, sharing the “capture the knight” teaser images which had also been posted by Warner Bros. The Instagram bio for The Flight says that the composers are making music for some “new, secret stuff in production” and it seems that this would be the Batman game....

However, the first The Last of Us game’s Factions multiplayer would actually make a lot of sense with a battle royale mode. Given the survival horror nature of the game in general, alongside the existing iteration of Factions’ multiplayer offering, there’s certainly room for some battle royale experimentation. Apparently Naughty Dog was on a similar wavelength, because datamined files of The Last of Us 2 contain several unused items that seem to hint at some kind of multiplayer functionality....

Gaming services including Steam, Origin, Battle.net and League of Legends have been experiencing outages today and yesterday, and a number of groups or individuals have claimed responsibility for the issues. The sites appear to have been the target of DDoS attacks that have left gamers struggling to log in or engage in online play. Origin was the first to be hit, according to Polygon, with players left unable to log in on both PC and consoles and a number of multiplayer and online games affected by the outages....

These changes see DICE focusing on fleshing out the game’s multiplayer offerings. Not only does this include the exclusion of a single-player campaign, but it also has led to new modes like Portal and Battlefield 2042’s Hazard Zone being created. Both modes give players a new way to tackle the Battlefield experience while bigger servers and weather disasters aim to mix up the core multiplayer mode as well. Another big change coming with Battlefield 2042 is the introduction of Specialists, which replace Battlefield’s usual classes and help flesh out its unique setting....

Battlefield 2042 fans have been anticipating Season 1 since a March release date was leaked back in December, but now the initial season has been pushed back to the Summer. DICE hasn’t confirmed when in the Summer Battlefield 2042 players will see the release of Season 1, but it suggested an early Summer release which may push it back to June or July. Battlefield 2042 won’t receive Season 1 until the Summer, but DICE has confirmed some changes for the game in the meantime such as the addition of a Scoreboard, voice communication, and improved player profiles....

While the game released on November 12 last year, by November 28 Farming Simulator 22 had more concurrent players than Battlefield 2042. This seemed to be a sign of things to come, as the player base has continued to dwindle ever since then. Players have found issues with many different aspects of the game, from the class system being removed in favor of an operator system, to the game’s surprising lack of content when compared to previous entries in the series....

Obviously, Battlefield 2042 isn’t a battle royale, but it will include a mode that is similar to that genre in some ways. October 14th promises new information about the game’s Hazard Zone mode, which promises squad based gameplay that pushes the envelope of what players expect from a typical battle royale. That new entry is the likes of Battlefield 2042, which was just recently revealed and shown off during this year’s E3 conference. The game was also the subject of a litany of rumors and leaks leading up to its reveal, similar to how Call of Duty 2021 has been. However, many of those leaks and rumors ended up being false. Regardless, Battlefield 2042 is going big, and Call of Duty 2021 may also have to go if it wants to compete with Battlefield this coming fall....

Next month that changes when Battlefield 3: Close Quarters releases to add four new maps, a new game mode and several new weapons. Close Quarters is part one of a three-stage release schedule for Battlefield 3 DLC, with ‘Armored Kill’ adding big maps and new vehicles in the fall and ‘End Game’ adding something we can only speculate upon in the winter. But is that all DICE is planning to add?...

In a video recently released by EA, Yankees star pitcher C.C. Sabathia and Bad Company character Sweetwater are featured in a clip titled “Friends Really Against Grenade Spam.” This is obviously a parody and response to Modern Warfare 2’s controversial “Friends Against Grenade Spam” video. The video itself is mildly funny, and gets the point across, but everything surrounding the video is much funnier. The first and most obvious point is the name of the video....

I admit, I’m a bit ashamed it took me so long. Apologies. I’ll be back in July to watch the class of 2017 induction ceremony. I cannot wait. I’ve spent most of the past month obsessing about filling out my first Hall of Fame ballot (the 2016 season was my 10th as a member of the BBWAA). I’ll be eager to hear the results of the voting, which will be announced on Jan 18....
