To its credit, DICE hasn’t abandoned Battlefield 2042, taking ownership and doubling down on improving the overall experience. In response to the criticisms and negativity, DICE altered its plans, even going as far as delaying Battlefield 2042’s first season, so it could work on fixing things through numerous updates. While the game has seen substantial changes in the months since launch, DICE is not done improving things, even recently revealing a host of upcoming changes and additions alongside the first season....

For those who are unaware of the details, Russia launched an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and its capital on February 24, 2022. Such a horrific conflict has resulted in a nationwide humanitarian crisis, as the Ukrainian people are actively fighting for their freedom and liberation from the occupants. There is not a lot known about Hazard Zone yet, but if the leaks are accurate the mode will be something entirely new for the Battlefield series. Reliable Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson recently tweeted out a response to another leaker named Anton Logvinov. Season 1 of Battlefield 2042, Zero Hour, kicked off back in June and was generally considered a step forward for the game after its disastrous reception at launch. Battlefield 2042 was heavily criticized at release by players, earning around 80,000 negative reviews on Steam with many complaints aimed at the lack of important features such as crucial personal statistics tracking along with bugs, performance, and balance issues. Many of these problems were addressed through Battlefield 2042’s Season 1 update, and it looks like the game will be receiving a similar upgrade with the arrival of Season 2 on August 30....

Throughout all these multiplayer modes in Battlefield 2042, gamers can expect to see the Specialists system used in place of the usual classes. A bold new step for Battlefield, the system introduces named characters with their own personalities, stories, and skillsets. So far, Battlefield 2042 has revealed its near-future setting as well as sizable lobbies of 128 players on PC and next-gen consoles. DICE confirmed today that it’s removing the 128-player version of Breakthrough from Battlefield 2042’s All-Out Warfare playlists, but only for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S player ecosystem. The decision, according to EA Dice, was made because “128 player modes are better suited for Conquest.” Further, EA DICE believes the 64-player version of Breakthrough offers a “more tactical experience.” No comment was made regarding a lack of players contributing to the decision to end support of Breakthrough with 128 players on these platforms....
