During E3 2021, Battlefield 2042 was revealed to an eager fanbase. Their patience was finally awarded with a gameplay trailer that showed off some new gadgets, as well as introducing the new dynamic weather systems. Both of these new additions are reminiscent of another popular action franchise. Swinging from the metal structures while blowing up a helicopter seems to be more comparable to the Just Cause games than Battlefield. The new trailer for Battlefield 2042 was filled with similarly over-the-top explosions and fast-paced action that is sure to make fans of the Just Cause series interested....

To say that Battlefield 2042 has had a rocky launch would be an understatement, as many players have found it to be a disappointment on many fronts. According to a dataminer known as Temporyal on Twitter, Battlefield 2042 Season 1 kicks off at some point in March. Temporyal has also stated that Battlefield 2042’s latest client shows twelve preseason weeks leading up to the release of Season 1 which will each include missions. The Battlefield 2042 dataminer has also stated that DICE may have allowed for a buffer of a few weeks, suggesting that Season 1 could begin sooner than the data suggests....

Perhaps the biggest of these changes is the one being made to 2042’s Specialist system. Acknowledging that replacing the series’ class system with individual Specialists has been “polarizing,” DICE announced that it will be bringing classes back and integrating Specialists into the classic roles of Assault, Support, Engineer, and Recon. This will follow changes made to the Specialists’ designs earlier this month, and DICE stated that it will continue to tweak their designs and voicelines to better suit the grittier tone of 2042’s world....

“We moved it because we thought there was more innovation that could go in the game,” Wilson told earlier this week. When Battlefield Hardline’s hold-up was officially announced in July, DICE’s Karl Magnus Troedsson explained that reaction from the beta aggravated the company to “start thinking about other possibilities and ways we could push Hardline innovation further and make the game even better.” There will be numerous changes in both single player and multi-player gaming, Troedsson said earlier....

During a recent interview with Games Industry Biz, DICE Chief Rebecka Coutaz clarified some details about the studio prior to Battlefield 2042’s launch, the overall response from players, and how the team has improved the FPS since. Among the problems with the community that Battlefield 2042 ran into on launch include negative Steam reviews and review bombing on Metacritic that accused the buggy game of being unplayable due to several in-game issues....
